My Lifesaver

Thinking just thinking

Compelled to just blink

Blinking and blinking

Yet still out of sync

Shifting and drifting

No line and no time

Lost my anchor to the vast open sea

No captain and no crew. It’s only me.

Sinking just sinking

Emotions rising vehemently

Searching just searching

Need strength to just be

Drowning just drowning

In my own salty tears

I’ve found no one to calm all my fears.

But alas the lifesaver

It comes to rescue me

Was it always there?

Did I not notice in my own despair?

Lifesaver oh lifesaver

What says thou to me?

I hope you enjoyed my poem. Sending hugs from Brooklyn. Sometimes when life becomes difficult and you feel like you are drowning-don’t forget to search for the lifesaver. It can be a friend, a therapist or a higher power. You are never truly alone.
